Study in Dublin Business School

Originally known as the Accountancy and Business College, Dublin Business School (DBS) was established in 1975. At the time, the college only had evening classes for the candidates who were studying for their professional accounting bodies exams. Now it has become one of the two biggest independent colleges in Ireland. In 2003, Kaplan, Inc, a subdivision of Graham Holdings Company acquired Dublin Business School, impressed by the progress it had made.

With its main campus in Aungier Street, the college has four educational sites across Dublin. There are a variety of subjects including law, accounting and finance, arts, information technology, and media and journalism. DBS has three different schools, namely the School of Arts, Professional School, and the School of Business and Law. Located in the capital city, DBS makes sure that students have whatever they need on campus, from a modern learning environment to comfortable accommodations. There are state-of-the-art laboratories, modern workshops, a stocked library, network connectivity, and several clubs and societies.

The Castle house campus at South Great George’s Street has a facility, built-in 35,000 square feet, boasting of IT labs, modern classrooms, administrations, and teaching offices. In general, Dublin is a happening city with ample opportunities for entertainment and recreation. There are top-notch breweries, pubs, restaurants and shopping complexes in the city. Students can spend their spare time in the beautiful streets that are filled with cafes and various shops.

In 1992, DBS got recognized as a Designated Institution under the NCEA Act. In 1996, it became an Associate College of Henley. It’s master’s programs, Postgraduate Higher Diploma and DBS Degree have gained accreditation from Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI). It focuses on educating its students according to the professional bodies and industry standards to propel them towards a fruitful career. Students can gather work experience while at college, study abroad for a year and find a volunteering project to work on. The college welcomes students from all over the globe. There are more than 9,000 students and offers over 100 courses, of which more than 70 are open to students from outside the EU.

DBS has a vast alumni community, and over the years, several notable personalities have studied at or have been associated with the college. International singer/songwriter Paul Connolly is known for composing the anthem for FIFA World Cup 2010. Ray Shah rose to fame with Big Brother 4 where he was one of the contestants. After that, he entered the entertainment industry and is working as a Q102 radio presenter.
