Associate Degree Associate degree refers to an undergraduate degree awarded by a college or university which is usually two years in length. British Columbia is the only province in Canada to offer associate degrees.
Certificate Programs A certificate program generally requires one year of full-time study at a college or vocational institute. They enable students to learn technical skills and acquire knowledge for entry-level jobs.
Diploma Programs Diploma generally requires two years of full-time study. Some schools also offer advanced diplomas, which require the completion of at least three years of full-time study. Credits of a diploma program can be extended to a bachelor’s study abroad program.
Applied Degree At UG level applied degree is focused on a certain field but not necessarily specializing in a certain topic and the duration of study is typically 3 years. At a graduate level (Master’s or PhD) program is considered highly specialized programs which emphasize research.
