The very first step in getting your student visa for any country begins with making an application to your desired university and getting a letter of acceptance. Documents Required For Student Visa
We have listed down some primary documents required for student visa applications.
1. Valid Passport
This is the primary document required for any type of college/ university application or visa application. You need to ensure that you have at least two blank pages in your passport for stamping for a visa. In case you have any old passports, you would still have to submit a copy of them.
2. Academic Documents
Second important document you need to gather is your academic documents. No matter which country you are applying to, you must be able to prove that you are a genuine student and you have been consistent in your previous study. Academic documents are mainly your year 10th, 12th, Diploma, Graduation marksheets and Degree Certificates, along with any other certificates that you have. Resume/ CV, Cover Letter, Bold SOP and LORs would also be assessed as part of your college or University application.
3. Financial Documents
For a successful student visa most of the countries would require you to prove that you are capable of not only taking care of the tuition fees but also have the required funds to afford your stay in that country for the duration of your study period. While many countries have a specified amount of funds it would require like Canada required 10,000 CAD in students GIC account under SDS stream. Some have more extensive guidelines on how much fund is required and how to show them like UK ask for Bank Statement of Loan Certificate.
4. Language Proficiency
Another thing that is very important is the proof that you can communicate in the language which would be your medium of instruction. Most of the English-speaking countries like US, UK, Canada, Australia, etc. would require you to provide proof of your language profiency in English which is usually done by achieving minimum score requirement for English Language Tests like TOEFL, IELTS and/or PTE. Similarly, if you are planning to study in Germany, you would be required to provide certification for German language.
